Who direct hire is for
Direct hire is the right model when the vehicle is being procured by a business rather than supplied to a non-fault claimant under a credit hire agreement. It suits insurers running intervention programmes, credit hire organisations needing overflow capacity, brokers handling courtesy car obligations, and fleet operators who need a replacement quickly without setting up a long-term lease.
How direct hire works
- Quick onboarding - we agree commercial terms, a rate card, and a route to instruct. Call-off agreements, framework rates, or pure ad-hoc all work.
- You instruct by phone or email with the policyholder/driver details, postcode, vehicle class, and expected duration.
- We dispatch - same day in most areas, next working day at the latest.
- We coordinate collection at the end of hire and reconcile invoicing against the agreed terms.
Use cases
- Intervention hire for insurers wanting to manage at-fault and non-fault costs proactively and head off a credit hire claim.
- Overflow fleet for CHOs facing a spike in demand or a regional gap in their own supply.
- Policyholder courtesy cars on agreed insurer terms when the panel repairer can’t supply.
- Replacement vehicles for fleet operators bridging downtime, repairs, or projects.
- Short-term project hire for businesses needing extra capacity around peak periods.
Fleet range
Standard cars, commercial vehicles, licensed taxis, EVs and hybrids, and prestige vehicles. If you can specify it, we can usually source it. Where a specific vehicle type isn’t in stock we’ll be straight with you about the closest sensible match and the lead time on the exact spec.
Delivery and logistics
Nationwide coverage with a dedicated logistics manager. Single point of contact, real updates, no chasing. Drivers are briefed at handover - including charging for EVs and any special licensing for larger vehicles - so the vehicle is genuinely useable from minute one.
Partnership model and reporting
We work alongside insurance partners under flexible commercial terms - call-off agreements, framework rates, or ad-hoc requests. We sign GTAs where appropriate and adapt to your reporting needs: monthly MI, exception reports, average duration tracking, recovery rates, and anything else your governance team needs to see.
How to get set up
Call 01606 662300 or use the contact form. We’ll have a 20-minute call to understand your volumes, vehicle mix, and reporting requirements, then come back with rates and a way to instruct. No long sales process.
